Wolf

Poem by Donna O'Connell

I've come back from the Arctic of extinction to the sunshine of Yellowstone.

Bounding day and evening.

My howls hang on a paen of night.

The thrill of fang and kill, the sated honey of meat in my belly, my mate panting by my side. ‍
